Community Baptist Church has been awarded a $500 Matthew 25 grant for their after school program, called ASK - After School Kids. They provide snacks, homework time, and activities for the students Monday through Friday after school. American Baptist Churches USA’s Matthew 25 Grant is designed to channel gifts to help meet the needs of “housing, feeding, education and health with regard to the less fortunate.”
“Our congregation is small. About 40 people attend each Sunday,” reports Susan Vigne, the director of ASK, who filed a report on the grant results. “Our membership is aging. However, in the last three years the number of children attending ASK has doubled. Some of the children come with their grandparents. Others attend with their parents. And a few children just come on their own. Our town is in the economically depressed region of Coos County, the most northern and most rural part of our state. Our church membership reflects this, although we do have members across a wide socioeconomic range.” (Taken from this article.)

We ask for your continued prayers and missions support to help children attend camp and help with the ministry. The support of our friends and churches is important to the work we do together. We learned the Lodge septic system will need to be replaced and we are reaching out for support. The cost of the project is $78,000. Please consider a gift of support to help us with this important immediate need.
We believe through ministry partnership; Relationships are Built and Lives are Changed. Thank you for standing with us in ministry! We love to share the story, contact us to visit your church a Sunday morning.
