Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit. Sing and make music from your heart to the Lord, always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. Ephesians 5:18-19
A few days ago, at summer camp a young day camper arrived at check out without his backpack. His mother questioned where it was and the boy shrugged and he said, “I don’t know”. Embarrassed, I asked the camp counselor to go and find it and apologized to the mother. The young boy quickly spoke up and he said, “It’s my fault”. “Why is it your fault?” I said. “Because I hid it.” "Why did you hide it?" The boy said, “cause I wanted to stay at camp.” I feel like this in the stillness of the outdoors, I want to stay. I enjoy seeing campers make new friends, try new activities, enjoy time around Bible study with inspiring words from our Camp Pastor and staff. Camp helps create an atmosphere of worship and the study of God’s Word together. I feel thankful. This sweet melody my heart receives helps to create a harmony for my life. Our 2021 theme is Steadfast. Firm in belief. Determined. Firmly fixed in place. Immovable. "The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations 3:22-23. Camp provides a place where we find unhurried moments to take a breath and focus on the steadfast love of our unchanging God. By purposeful time in the quiet, gazing at the bright stars at night, we are reminded of how immovable God is. Our faith deepens as we are reminded the steadfast love of the LORD never ceases…great is Thy faithfulness. Thank you to our Camp Pastors for your service! What the Staff Say MEET THE STAFF “Often people ask me, how could you "give up" your summer to work at camp for 9 weeks, and I suppose that could be a valid question. I guess it's because camp is my home away from home, where my second family is. I get to spend my summer not only with amazing people but in a bubble, that protects against all the world throws at me. I wake up to constant love, fun and smiles and most importantly my summer is devoted to helping kids find their relationship with Christ. Life outside camp is just so boring in comparison. Simply put I would miss it” –Summer Staff Retreats Experience the stillness of 629 acres Sentinel offers retreat experiences for individuals and groups up to 200 people (Spring, Summer & Fall) and up to 60 people (Winter) in our year-round rustic lodge.
