Loon Mountain Ministry Hosts Snowboarders and Skiers for Christ National Conference

​Loon Mountain and Loon Mountain Ministry had the pleasure of hosting for the second time the Snowboarders and Skiers for Christ National conference in November. This conference is a gathering of Ski Resort Ministries from all over the States, Canada, and some beyond. Over 100 lovers of Jesus and Snow made their way to New England to encourage, inspire, learn, worship, pray, play, eat, laugh and hug. One of the speakers Pam Morse (Sugarloaf Area Christian Ministry) spoke of the pilgrims that make their way to ski hills each weekend in search of recreation as well as RE-CREATION. She challenged us to see the people coming to our mountain communities not as tourists looking to escape but souls longing to belong. As resort ministers this is the environment we find ourselves in, and we have found that the mountains are a very effective place to lead people to Jesus. These strategies are especially exciting for the Northeast as it is no secret that traditional Church ministry is struggling to find ways to reach people. It was an amazing weekend and we are thankful for Dale Edwards and the support of the Region.
